Kevin Conroy’s last time as Batman.
There is a great beauty to what Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 3 is doing—two voice actors who spend a huge part of their careers working together as one of the most iconic duos of all time; The Batman and The Joker. Collaborating for the final time, they get to perform, even though one of them has already passed on.
There have never been two actors who have fit as well as Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill did. Both were perfectly suited for the roles they played; both were hired around the same time, and both played the characters for a very long time. The voice of the Bat literally spent the majority of his life in the mind of the character, recording his final words as the Dark Knight before his passing.
Before his untimely passing in 2022, the actor recorded dialogues for two projects, Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 3 and Batman: Caped Crusader. The first look at the former has finally been released for the world to see. One cannot blame fans for getting emotional.
Swan Song—A Final Performance
The Tomorrowverse has been in full swing, having already released two of their biggest projects within one year. Starting with Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 1, which was followed by Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 2, fans have patiently but relentlessly been waiting for the story to come to its conclusion and end the torment of cliffhangers.
The entire Crisis on Infinite Earths story is known for all its cameos, bringing in characters from all corners of the DC Multiverse, from comics, books, shows, and movies. The same has been the case for these movies, with Matt Ryan most famously reviving his role as John Constantine. However, more appearances are yet to come since the third film has yet to be released.
Discussing Film recently teased the return of two actors in their iconic roles through a short clip. In classic Batman: The Animated Series style, the clip shows Mark Hamill’s Joker getting beaten up by Kevin Conroy’s Batman; for the last time.
Fans Get Emotional Over Kevin Conroy’s Last Role
Kevin Conroy has gone down as a legend in DC’s history. Having been first cast in the role of the Batman in 1992, he played the character for three decades, longer than any other actor in a superhero role. From films to shows, to even specials, he dominated the DC Animated Universe through his versions of the Bat. Every single one of his characters was different, yet they all possessed something that was Conroy in the purest of forms.
