Jensen Ackles wants to take new projects after starring as Soldier Boy in The Boys.

The Boys, Jensen Ackles

Jensen Ackles is ready to work on new projects after starring as Soldier Boy in Prime Video’s The Boys. It’s quite understandable, though, because the series is set to conclude in Season 5, thus leaving the actor without a job. He’s got nothing to fret about because he is confirmed to return to Tracker Season 2.

Ackles is very well recognized for his stint in Supernatural as Dean Winchester. Fans can say he’s made a great deal of time appearing on television shows and the platform has become his territory.

Jensen Ackles Confirmed To Return In Tracker Season 2

Great news for fans of CBS’ Tracker – Jensen Ackles will return as Russell Shaw with more screen time. He only guest-starred in the first season, so the upcoming installment will be a much-anticipated one.

Actor and executive producer Justin Hartley said during the Summer Television Critics Association 2024 Press Tour via People that they got him back: “He’s coming back. We’re having fun with that. It’s a great story.” It remains a mystery how many episodes would feature Ackles.

On the other hand, showrunner Elwood Reid remarked that the actor is always just one call away.

It’s like family: when we text him [he says], ‘Tell me where and tell me when,’ and he shows up. He’s just that kind of guy.

Hartley once spoke with CinemaBlend to share how he got Ackles to join the show. While revealing that they have been long-time friends, they never get to work together.

I try to give the people what they want. You know what I mean? And Jensen and I have been friends for so long, and we never got a chance to work together because the man is so damn busy. And then we’re always working in different places.

He believed it would be a great opportunity to make the collaboration happen. He thought of casting Ackles for the role of Colter Shaw’s brother. “I thought, ‘Man, that’s kind of a special role. I think maybe I’ll make a phone call,’” mused Hartley.

Jensen Ackles May Possibly Have A Larger Role In Tracker

Jensen Ackles is indeed a busy bee with all the projects laid in front of him. He appeared in 15 seasons of Supernatural, with the show running from 2005 to 2020. After that, the actor made his debut in The Boys in Season 3 as Soldier Boy.

Tracker premiered early this year with Ackles only starring in a short cameo role, but as the showrunner promised, he will be starring in more than one episode.

With The Boys coming to an end with Season 5, there’s a chance that Russell Shaw will become a staple character in Tracker if the story permits it. There are always endless possibilities, and Hartley would definitely want to work more with Ackles since they already matched schedules.

Tracker is now streaming on CBS.
