He managed to work with many Hollywood stars, make a cool deconstruction of the noir genre, and even get two Oscar nominations for the screenplays, but A Galaxy Far, Far Away will always remain as his failure on the profile.

The Star Wars franchise is one of the most successful film series of all time. However, the recent release of the latest trilogy has been met with mixed reviews.

One of the most controversial aspects of the movies was the decision to hire Rian Johnson to direct The Last Jedi, which meant that each film had to be made by different people with their own views and ideas about the Universe.

It turned the trilogy into absolute nonsense. Rian Johnson had previously directed critically acclaimed films like Brick, Looper and Knives Out.

The first part of the detective story won all sorts of awards and was nomimated for a Golden Globe and the American Film Academy’s top prize for original screenplay.

However, Johnson’s involvement in the Star Wars franchise has been criticized for its inconsistent plot and character development.

Many fans feel that his direction and writing of The Last Jedi was a significant downgrade from his previous work.

While Rian Johnson’s involvement in the Star Wars franchise may have been a disappointment to some fans, it is important to remember that he is still a talented filmmaker with a successful career.

His previous full-lengths have been critically acclaimed and have earned him a reputation as one of the most promising directors in Hollywood.

No matter how impressive his portfolio is outside of the Star Wars franchise, The Last Jedi flop will always remain.

Johnson has yet to film a trilogy unrelated to the Skywalkers, but we haven’t heard anything about it in a while.

Some might suggest that Disney simply postponed the movies due to the overwhelming criticism and has no intention of developing and producing them.

Rian Johnson has a long way to go to make up for his disgraceful The Last Jedi, which has seriously lowered expectations for his career.

Maybe the director can still make a good movie in the George Lucas universe if Disney lets him do it, because he definitely has the talent, but for now, fans are likely to remain skeptical until the first successful project in A Galaxy Far, Far Away arrives.
