Rosario Dawson and Hayden Christensen hint at the potential appearance of Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Ahsoka S2.
After debuting as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) Hayden Christensen reprised his Star Wars role in multiple projects including Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. However, his recent appearance in the live-action show Star Wars: Ahsoka, alongside Rosario Dawson, is what surprised and thrilled fans the most.
Hayden Christensen appeared on the fifth episode of Disney’s Ahsoka Season 1 to share the screen with Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano. Following their highly anticipated live-action reunion, fans began wondering if Anakin Skywalker would return in the second season of the show since the series is officially under development for its next installment. Dawson and Christensen both responded to fans’ curiosity.
Rosario Dawson Shares Her Experience Working with Hayden Christensen
Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano’s relationship goes a long way through Star Wars history. Initially appearing together during the Battle of Christophsis, in the 2008 animated movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano had the perfect traits to be the Padawan for Anakin Skywalker. Thereafter, Anakin’s relationship with Ashoka became a vital part of his existence.
Following this very storyline, the two characters were later brought in a live-action adaptation of Disney’s Star Wars: Ahsoka. Rosario Dawson appeared as Ahsoka Tano in the live-action show, after her initial appearance in The Mandalorian and Hayden Christensen reprised his character Anakin Skywalker since his 2002 Star Wars debut. The duo stunned fans with their highly anticipated character reunion as they crossed lightsabers on the fifth episode of Ahsoka.
Thereafter, speaking with EW, Rosario Dawson opened up about her work experience with Hayden Christensen. With Star Wars: Ahsoka season 2 being in development, as fans wonder if Anakin Skywalker will return once again to the show to continue his story with Ahsoka Tano, Dawson speaks about the onscreen and offscreen chemistry with Christensen.
We never could have imagined we’d be here doing this together. It is a pretty cool thing to know that we have a history that we were able to play with and actually engage with and that there is a history there that didn’t have to get made up.
Recalling her first meeting with Hayden Christensen as batchmates at New York City’s Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in the summer of 1995, Rosario Dawson expressed her excitement upon getting to share the screen with her long-time buddy in Star Wars: Ahsoka. Therefore, considering their Star Wars characters’ history and their offscreen friendship, Dawson and Christensen had a great time on set.
Will Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker Return in Star Wars: Ahsoka?

Christensen responded,
Look, as to whether or not we see Anakin again, I don’t know. But as evidenced by that last shot of the series, he’s with her in spirit, and they continue to have this connection.
Hayden Christensen simply took the ambiguous route and merely noted that his character would be with Ahsoka in spirit. Thus sparking speculation with his response about whether he’ll make any on-screen appearances, Christensen left us to wonder if Ahsoka or another project will feature Anakin’s next appearance. However, as for Rosario Dawson, she had a bit more of a promising tease of Anakin’s return.
I will just say that as she puts on that hologram of him, you see that there’s several of them. So I think there’s that potential. But I love, also, not just being relegated to those messages and things that we might be able to see more of in the future. We’ve gotten to see from the films now into the show that he’s been able to become this force ghost that brings him back to Anakin, who at the end of the day when he went and ascended to that space, that’s what he became.
The Disney+ series centers around Rosario Dawson’s character, whose origin surrounds a master-apprentice relationship with Anakin Skywalker, previously depicted in the 2008 animated series and movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Star Wars: Ahsoka takes place five years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983), in which Anakin dies and becomes a Force ghost.
Star Wars: Ahsoka is available on Disney+.
