Heartstopper has gone from a spin-off novella to a web comic to a graphic novel to a television series. In each step of this path, the story has gained more and more fans, all of whom have become obsessed with the front and center romance of Nick and Charlie. Specifically, the television series has helped bring the story into the mainstream, with new people watching the series practically everyday. Now, the third season is just around the corner, which is naturally bringing in a lot of excitement. Recently, just ahead of the upcoming season’s release, a new teaser has been dropped to get people ready for the new slate of episodes. Here is all of the information about the new teaser, as well what is expected to happen in season 3 of Heartstopper.

What is Heartstopper about?

Based on the web comics and graphic novels of the same name, Heartstopper is about Charlie Spring (Joe Locke), a gay high school student who prefers to fly under the radar. One day, he starts talking to classmate Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), a popular rugby player who is a grade above him. When Charlie starts to develop feelings for Nick, he thinks that there is no chance and that he is just pining for a straight boy. However, after a journey of self-discovery, Nick realizes that he is bisexual and that he likes Charlie too. These mutual feelings lead to the two students starting a happy relationship. Nevertheless, despite that relationship’s happiness, there are still many obstacles in their way for their relationship to fully work, such as deciding on going public. That being said, no matter what happens, even when life tries to bring them down. Charlie and Nick will always have each other’s backs

What will Heartstopper Season 3 focus on?

Considering the previous season focused on the plot of the third volume of the graphic novels, the upcoming season will most likely follow the fourth volume, possibly the fifth one as well. As shown in the first teaser, one plotline will be Charlie working up the courage to tell Nick that he loves him. Since the first episode’s title has already been revealed to be “Love,” this story will probably take center stage right away. In addition, the season will be showing how Nick, Charlie, and their friends will spend the summer, as well as the new set of challenges that the new school year may present. The season will also see the introduction of Charlie’s therapist Geoff, played by Eddie Marsan, so there could be a deeper exploration into Charlie’s mental health. Other new characters include Nick’s Aunt Diane, played by Hayley Atwell, and Jack Maddox, Charlie’s celebrity crush, played by Jonathan Bailey. There is certainly a lot in store for the upcoming season and the teasers have been giving fans a small taste of what’s to come.

What happens in the new teaser?

The newest teaser came out August 3, 2024. The music in the background of the video is Pretty Boy by LÉON. In the teaser, we first see Nick walking through the school hallway until he finds Charlie at his locker row. The two make eye contact and walk up to each other and then go in for a big hug. They then both say a happy “hi” to each other, which has been the fictional couple’s signature exchange. When they get back to hugging, Nick says, “No kiss?” to which Charlie responds “Hug first.” This scene is likely meant to show the reuniting after spending a bit of time away from each other, possibly due to summer vacations. This type of happy and smiley teaser is an excellent way to remind everyone why they fell in love with this couple in the first place.
