Karen Fukuhara is Hoping That Kimiko Will Fight Homelander Like Arya Fought the Night King in 'Game of Thrones'

The Boys is one of the most popular superhero series in the world, and its fourth season ended recently, on July 18, 2024. The initial reactions to the season were lukewarm, but the series has been picking up the pace and ended up being Certified Fresh with high ratings as well.

There have been many fascinating and surprising during the fourth season, and while we did discuss many characters, Kimiko, whose most shocking moment so far came in the season finale, was not a character we had often talked about, but that is going to be remedied in this report.

In this article, we are going to report on Karen Fukuhara’s appearance on the I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario podcast, which took place recently. In the interview, Fukuhara discussed a lot of interesting details about Kimiko, the audition process, as well as her own private life.

As stated, Karen Fukuhara was a guest on the I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario podcast, and one of the questions asked was about her wishes for the upcoming final season of The Boys; Fukuhara revealed that she had one specific fight she wanted to do:

TD: If there’s one thing that you would want to see for your character, and I know the writers are brilliant and they’re going to take care of it all, but if you could see one thing… and you’re like, man, I really hope I get to play this? What is that?

KF: Ooh? I would love to see a Kimiko-Homelander face-off moment. But also be careful what I wish for, because Homelander is very powerful, and a face-off might not be a great idea for Kimiko. But I loved Game of Thrones, and I thought that the Arya Stark victory against the White Walkers was just so… like, unexpected and amazing. I just loved that… that moment when she… she’s the one to do it. You know, it’s very unexpected, and so I don’t know. I’m… maybe it’s Kimiko that takes down Homelander who knows, or she might die in the process, so… knock on wood. I really don’t want that. I’m like… maybe not.

TD: You know what… I don’t think maybe she’s gonna die. I don’t think she’s gonna die. My money is on Kimiko, because you know what… Kimiko fights smartly. It’s not just about, like, the ego, move, or acting rashly. Like… I feel, like, she’s a very smart fighter.

KF: I would like to think that, too. I would like to think that, too. And I… yeah, I mean… they always say that once you speak it into existence, the writers won’t write it so… (TD: No, really?) Yeah, yeah, yeah! That’s what the… Actually, the writers on our show told us that. They were like, yeah, if you have any ideas, a lot of times, like, when you say it out loud, it never happens. Because that also means that it’s something that can be… like, imagined, or other people will expect this too, so it’s not good enough. You know, I don’t know. Maybe that’s the reasoning… But yeah, I like to keep my mouth shut with you know, like future prediction questions.

This is certainly an interesting take and we found out some interesting information from Fukuhara. If you want to hear the whole podcast, you can do so by following this link.
