With the release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ the mutant era in the MCU has officially kicked off, just as Feige hinted before the movie’s debut. We’ve already speculated on how the MCU could set up a clash between mutants and Avengers, leading to an epic showdown between some of the most powerful characters in the universe.

With the X-Men live-action reboot on the horizon and a new Avengers lineup taking shape, the question of how a battle between these two teams would play out is more intriguing than ever. James McAvoy, who portrayed Professor X in the Fox X-Men franchise, recently shared some interesting thoughts on the matter.

When McAvoy was asked what would happen if the X-Men and Avengers faced off in a cage match, his response was clear: “It would be over in minutes” due to some amusing tactics.

There’s like 40 of us, and like 5 of them. And one of them is half-man, half-robot, you just turn off the power and he’s done. And another one’s a guy with a shield who is a bit strong. I mean come on. And there’s another – who’s the other one? The guy with a bow and arrow? We’ve got guns and stuff. He’s [Wolverine] got claws. I can just go like “sit down” and they’ll all sit down. I”l be like “have a cup of tea” they’ll all be having a cup of tea. I could be like “take your clothes off” and they’d all be taking their clothes off. It would be a disaster.

Although McAvoy’s straightforward take on the showdown makes sense in theory, not all fans agree that it would be so effortless.
