‘The Boys’ just may be headed to A-Train’s death by Homelander.

The recently released The Boys season 4 has had fans gobsmacked to the core, with all the turn of events making it harder to predict what could happen next. Amidst all of these surprising twists, fans have started speculating about one particular character’s fate out of all of them: Reggie Franklin aka A-Train. In fact, some even believe that this character may be facing his end soon.

According to their speculation, fans feel that Jessie T. Usher’s Reggie will be killed at the hands of the Homelander. This comes after the latest turn of events that have unfolded in the saga for Reggie, which includes him more or less transforming even more into a heroic personality than the original antagonist and anti-hero aura he has been sporting all along.

Will Homelander Kill A-Train By The End Of Season 4?

While the answer to this question can’t quite be given with much certainty, it can’t be denied that this is possible as well, either. As was seen in the recently released sixth episode of the currently airing season 4 of the series, Jessie T. Usher‘s character seems to be undergoing major character development and finally stepping onto the bright side to redeem himself.

This comes to light, especially after the incident where Mother’s Milk collapses due to a panic attack following his mission getting busted as he and Karen Fukuhara‘s Kimiko are discovered by Susan Heyward’s Sister Sage. Unable to decide what to do, Kimiko asked Reggie to help them “for the sake of his daughter.” And, surprisingly enough, Reggie actually does so.

In an unexpected turn of events, Reggie actually decides to act as the hero for once and transports Laz Alonso‘s M. M. away from danger and to the ambulance. Following this, a young kid was seen smiling at Reggie for the good deed he just committed, and in a heartwrenching twist, Reggie Franklin smiled back at the kid like he, too, acknowledged that he did something good.

That being said, this incredibly warm act had fans in a flurry, trying their best to speculate what could happen next for this character. This is because, 1. This series doesn’t really have many touching moments like this, and 2. Reggie is starting to channel more into heroic energy than the usual villainous and anti-hero personality he sported throughout the previous seasons.

With all of this happening, fans are now speculating that Usher’s character could finally be able to redeem himself after all the wrongs he has done and that have been done to him. This could happen if Anthony Starr‘s Homelander eventually gets in a one-on-one duel with Reggie, with the latter finally turning into a good guy before seemingly being thrashed to death by his opponent.

Following the release of this scene along with multiple other turns of events for him, a fan, @deadxspider98, took to Instagram to share how they feel Reggie “may not survive at the end of the season.”  Since then, other fans of the smash-hit saga have been piling up with their own respective opinions in the comment section of this post.

Here’s what they’re saying:

A train having one of the best redemption 😢 ~ @eskomo_v2

more screen time, resolving character arcs, making amends with hughie. nah he’s cooked 😭 ~ @monkejim

A-Train deserves it. Bro had a woman that loved him, a family that supported him and welcomed him back with open arms, and a way out of the 7 and gave it all up. Killed his girlfriend for homelander, and ditched his brother for drugs. At this point him dying is the only redemption in my eyes ~ @caden-colburn

A-Train is awesome. He’s got better. The Deep has got way worse, he will survive until the end of the series. ~ @_kyleellis.ke

I loved this scene bc this is probably the first time in a long time A-Train has actually felt like a hero ~ @cole_decker714

It’s gonna be deep or a train both can’t survive ~ @atxmason_

All of this being said, it sounds more inevitable than ever before that Reggie Franklin just may be headed to the end of his character arc, presumably at the hands of the Homelander. And considering everything he has been through and all the tough times he had to undergo, it seems like just the redemption arc he could ask for.
