Andy Serkis, who is widely known for his playing the role of Gollum in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, spoke out about being uninterested when he learned about voicing a digital character. In an interview with The Guardian in 2017, he shared,

He would have doubted his choice as voicing a character as an actor was not what he was expecting but his mindset changed when the film director convinced him to give it a try.

He added,

“Then I met Peter Jackson and he said, ‘We want an actor to play the role, be on set and make decisions for that character.’”

Working as Gollum proved to be one of the best decisions in his life as the actor not only got a significant boost in his career, he also became Hollywood’s high-demand actor for Motion capture technology roles.
