Hugh Jackman recently reprised his role as Wolverine in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ Having played the character for 24 years, Jackman was prepared to retire after his 2017 performance in ‘Logan,’ where Wolverine’s story seemingly ended.

However, the opportunity to team up with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool proved irresistible, prompting his return. Now at 55, some fans are concerned that Jackman may not be able to deliver the same level of performance as he did in his younger years.

All concerns were put to rest with the movie’s release, as Jackman showcased an impressive physique. Recently released photos further confirmed this.

Jackman detailed his rigorous eating and training regimen in an interview with Jimmy Fallon two weeks ago.

You eat a lot, it’s 6000 calories. And it’s not the calories you necessarily want. […] You can get 6000 calories like half a pizza is 6000 calories. But no, this is chicken and its tilapia, and beans. Tilapia and beans. I don’t know why Tilapia. It must be some fish that is lean and green beans. […] It’s worth it. And I haven’t told anyone this but, we had the strike, in the middle of it. And at the beginning, of the shooting, there was one particular scene, where I really wanted to focus on how I looked. And Shawn said, “Where do you want to do that scene?” And I said, “Let’s just put it to the end.” And then the strike came and I was like “Oh, why did I say that”

It’s evident that the actor has avoided carbs for months leading up to the shoot, and I genuinely empathize with him. However, it’s not just about diet—while it’s a significant – the biggest- part of getting in shape, rigorous workouts are equally crucial.

Over the past year and a half, Jackman has been documenting his training for the movie with the hashtag #BecomingWolverineAgain. Additionally, he’s been engaging in a light-hearted “arms race” with his co-star Ryan Reynolds to see who can get in the best shape.

The actor’s regimen included a mix of weightlifting and cardio, all while being continuously motivated by his personal trainer. The results are truly impressive.
