The Last Airbender, Aang, Azula

When it comes to nostalgic TV shows, Avatar: The Last Airbender is unrivaled. The Nickelodeon show had an outstanding run during its three seasons from 2005 to 2008. Even though it has been 19 years since the show was premiered on our TV screens, it continues to charm its audience. The show features elements that could not be found anywhere else and for an animated series made exclusively for children was age-neutral.

With the concept of ‘bending’ the elements of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air, the show’s battles were as amazing as they could be. The show’s battle sequences were greatly ahead of its time, making it a great conversation topic among fans. Despite featuring such great action sequences, the show made one grave error while featuring the battle between Aang vs Azula.

Avatar The Last Airbender Made a Critical Blunder During The Showdown between Aang vs Azula

Just like any other popular show, Avatar The Last Airbender was truly a grand show, featuring an outstanding plot, with well-written characters that had their own take on the world. The show featured Aang as the new Avatar, a 12-year-old boy, who must learn to master the four elements to defeat the Fire Nation and restore balance to the world.

There is no ounce of doubt that the show has stood the test of time, but just like every show it featured several problems that could not escape the fans’ eyes. One of the major blunders that the show featured was during the epic battle between Aang vs Azula, which was a pivotal moment in the story of the series.

No doubt it was an epic battle, showcasing Aang’s digging deep into his arsenal to defeat Azula. Viewers were sitting on the edge of their seats as they witnessed the battle, where Azula faced defeat at the hands of the Avatar. However, the show made one mistake, which made fans question its logic.

The subreddit for Avatar The Last Airbender (r/TheLastAirbender), featured a post from a fan, where they pointed out how “This line never made sense to me.” They were referring to how Aang was shown that he could run as fast as the wind, but during their showdown, he said, “She’s too quick, I can’t pin her down.” They wrote,

“This line never made sense to me, Aang has shown literally he can run as fast at the wind but can’t catch up to Azula because she’s too quick. There have been a lot of instances in this show where he can escape with his speed.

This was confusing because there has been a plethora of instances in the show, where Aang managed to escape with his incredible speed. Well, it looks like Azula got the scriptwriters’ help as they wanted to keep the episode interesting. They added,

“But this is the worst one because he literally says she’s too quick when that’s obviously a lie. But hey I guess they had to keep it interesting.”

This made the whole fandom come together as they pointed out how Azula had received more plot armor, compared to any other character featured in the three seasons of the animated show.
