The titular setting of Fallout: New Vegas, the post-apocalyptic city once ruled by Mr. House was spotted in the closing minutes of the episode. Hank MacLean was shown looking down to it, indicating that New Vegas is where he seeks to find what Walton Goggins’ The Ghoul speculated is the person in charge. From the looks of things, both Lucy and The Ghoul will be spending some time in the same areas explored by the player in Fallout: New Vegas if they’re to track down Hank.
How Fallout Season 1’s Ending Makes A Danny Trejo Cameo Possible For Season 2
Danny Trejo’s Raul could still be living in New Vegas
Being in the New Vegas region could open the door for the pair to cross paths with Raul, a ghoul mechanic and one of the companions that the player can recruit to his or her side in Fallout: New Vegas. Giving credence to this possibility is the fact that New Vegas’ Raul was voiced by Danny Trejo, creating an easy opportunity for the show to bring the character to life properly. Considering that most of the Machete star’s work is in live-action anyway, casting him in the series would make for a natural transition for the actor. After all, the no-nonsense, Western-style gunslinger is perfectly consistent with the characters Trejo tends to portray in his films.
Admittedly, there are physical differences between Raul and Danny Trejo, but these should hardly be an issue for Fallout season 2, thanks to the Ghoulification process. Like Walton Goggins, Trejo could be on the receiving end of a drastic makeover. Bringing in Trejo to reprise his role as Raul would be an appropriate move in regards to the tone of the series, especially when looking at the actor’s body of work. His “tough guy” image that he’s built from movies like Machete, combined with the deadpan humor infused into many of his characters, allows Trejo to fit seamlessly into the Fallout franchise, whether it’s in a video game or in live action.
What Happened To Danny Trejo’s Raul After Fallout: New Vegas
He could still be alive
As for what to expect from Raul were he to appear in some capacity in Fallout season 2, the series has some degree of leeway when it comes to determining his current role. Because New Vegas is a game driven by choices, there’s no definitive future for Raul after its story concluded; he could have died at the end of the game, met an end sometime after its events, chose retirement, or continued his adventures in the Wasteland solo. The show can decide for itself which scenario is canon.
Alternatively, it can use the show’s placement in the Fallout timeline to do something unexpected with Raul. The series is set 15 years after the game, so how things were left with him after The Courier’s story ended may not matter that much. Quite a lot could have changed for Trejo’s character in that span of time. That can be used to the show’s advantage if it wants to spring a truly surprising Danny Trejo cameo in Fallout season 2.
