‘The Boys’ season 4 ended recently, on July 18, 2024. The initial reactions to the season were lukewarm, but the series has been picking up the pace and ended up being Certified Fresh with high ratings as well, which – of course – led to a series of new announcements that have confirmed that the universe is expanding.

At the San Diego Comic-Con, a lot of new information was disclosed, including a new project. However, much of the information concerned The Boys‘ upcoming final season, which is now slated for release in 2026. The Boys’ main plot will come to an end this season, but as you know, this imaginary world will go on.

Now, the series’ showrunner Eric Kripke, who is in charge of the entire fictional universe, provided us with more information about the upcoming final season of his show to the media during the San Diego Comic-Con, where the series was first revealed. We have some very intriguing scoops for you!

During the SDCC, Eric Kripke made a number of intriguing revelations, some of which had to do with the forthcoming season finale of The Boys. We learned that the series is something he and his team are actively working on, and that it would be an interesting project with potentially huge and unexpected scenes in each episode, but also that no character is safe and that they are aiming for a really shocking season:

“That’s the fun of the final season. You can blow the doors off it. There’s no guarantee who’s going to survive because you don’t have to keep [the cast] for another season. So you can have really shocking, big things happen all the time. The writers, as we’re starting to cook it up, we’re really enjoying that.”

As you can see, the final season will definitely have a lot of surprises for us, but as Kripke continued, they really want to make it epic, which is why there is also a lot of pressure on them, naturally. At this point, though, we don’t have any precise information, but there is no doubt that we will get some in the upcoming months, and we also know that the upcoming Season 2 of Gen V will definitely reveal more details about the upcoming events and will give us a proper preparation for the final season of the main series.
