The Force has been an important part of the Star Wars franchise that has divided characters between the light and the dark side of it. While the Jedi Order wants to use the force to instill peace and stability, the Sith uses the force to amass power and establish control over everyone. This seems to be an important element in the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte.

In the new TV spot that was released recently (via YouTube), the presence of a Sith Lord looms over the footage. At the end of the footage, he is finally revealed, wearing a kickass mask that looks terrifying. Amandla Stenberg is the lead of the upcoming Star Wars show The Acolyte in dual roles. In the trailers and clips that have been released, she is seen fighting Carrie-Anne Moss’s character, who is a highly skilled Jedi Master. In an interview with Empire, Stenberg revealed that it was a dream come true to work with Moss, and she nearly had a heart attack when she got to know of her inclusion in the show.

Stenberg further stated that she was a huge fan of the Matrix films and was a huge source of inspiration to be with Moss and get to know more of her. The actress also praised Moss’ character as a strong and cool one. Stenberg said,

Soooo cool. When I first found out about it, I damn near had a heart attack, because I love The Matrix. And my goodness, what a cool, strong character. It just felt incredible that I had the opportunity to learn from somebody in real time, who had spent so much time in this industry in similar positions to me. She was an incredible source of inspiration – to be with her and to know her, and be on set together.

In addition to Stenberg and Moss, The Acolyte also stars Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Joonas Suotamo. The series is set to premiere on Disney+ with its first two episodes, with the remaining 6 episodes dropping weekly till July 16, 2024.
