Coronation Street’s Cassie Plummer has finally got her comeuppance on the ITV soap.

Cassie (Claire Sweeney) rocked up to the cobbles in 2023 as the estranged mum of Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall). And it didn’t take long for her to cause some drama.

Over on the soap last year, viewers were left shocked when Cassie started poisoning Ken (Will Roache). The pair struck up an unlikely friendship when Ken needed caring after he fell and injured himself.

However, when Ken reviewed his finances he decided he needed to let Cassie go. Determined not to lose her only source of income, Cassie started drugging Ken, in a bid to keep him ill.

Meanwhile, other residents have grown suspicious of her reasons for helping out Ken – including his daughter Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford). However, Cassie has continued to drug Ken, spiking his drinks with antihistamines so he relies on her.

And despite nearly getting caught, Cassie has begun to fleece him for every penny. Recently, she took the next step and stole his credit card, forking out hundreds of lavish purchases.

But this week, it all came crumbling down for Cassie… During Wednesday’s episode (February 26) Ken rumbled Cassie’s evil plan and forced her to leave. Things took a dramatic turn though when Ken suffered a heart attack – and was rushed to hospital

There, he told his family about what Cassie had been doing – and back on the cobbles all hell broke loose when Cassie was arrested, as she attempted to make a run for it.

Now, fans are convinced an exit is on the cards for Cassie – but they reckon she won’t get sent to prison. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “Yes!! Cassie arrested!!.”

Someone else chimed in: “I can’t see her going to prison. How are they going to prove she was drugging him?” A third agreed: “You’re probably right!” Echoing their thoughts, another person penned: “I really hope they don’t let her get away with it!” Someone else mused: “I think she will try to leave and run away again.”
