In Bridgerton season 2, Eloise continues her search for Lady Whistledown, and along the way, she learns about political ideologies. She seems to take a break in season 3 when Eloise befriends Cressida, but by the end of the season, she is back on track and ready to change the world when she moves to Scotland with her sister Francesca, her husband John, and his cousin Michaela. Eloise is clearly traveling for herself, and Scotland is just the most accessible because Francesca is moving there to begin her new life.
Will Bridgerton Reveal An Eloise In Scotland Spinoff?
A Second Bridgerton Spinoff Is Possible
Image By NetflixThe prospect of a series following Eloise around as she navigates life in Scotland carries a lot of promise. Theoretically, it’s a concept that could work as a miniseries that explores her time there and the people she meets. What’s more, Bridgerton already has a wildly successful spinoff – Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. It is the perfect example of what an Eloise in Scotland spinoff could look like. Queen Charlotte mostly takes place in the past, but the present day overlaps with the Bridgerton timeline during the off-season. Eloise should be expected to return to London during the season, but the off-season lasts nine to 10 months.
Eloise’s Story Needs Her To Experience The World
Eloise’s Storyline Pushes Her Beyond The Boundaries Of The Ton
From the beginning of Bridgerton, Eloise was simply too big for the ton. She constantly dreams of expanding her life beyond society’s expectations of getting married and having children. Eloise has watched men go off and find themselves her entire life, whether they decide to travel or pursue other personal endeavors. Meanwhile, Eloise has to sneak away from the ton just to attend a political meeting. The narrative has gotten to the point where Eloise needs more room to spread her wings and fly, and she can only do that by seeing the world.

Eloise insists that if she wants to change the world, she must see it in Bridgerton season 3, episode 8, “Into The Light.” Even Eloise’s book does not take place in London with the ton. Eloise ends up with Phillip Crane in To Sir Phillip, With Love, the only Bridgerton book that takes place entirely away from London. While other books in the series have multiple locations, Eloise is in Gloucestershire the entire time. Therefore, it makes sense for her to see the world, and Scotland is an ideal place to start since that is where Francesca lives.
Why Bridgerton’s Possible Eloise Spinoff Would Break A Golden Rule
Bridgerton’s Focus On The Ton
Image via NetflixFor the most part, Bridgerton takes place in London with the ton. Viewers have yet to see the Bridgerton world outside of London, except for Aubrey Hall and Clyvedon Castle. An Eloise spinoff in Scotland would break Bridgerton tradition by stepping away from the ton. If any Bridgerton romance were to take place elsewhere, it would be Eloise, given how different she is from her siblings. Scotland is isolated, but it is a significant first step for Eloise. Although she aspires to be different, women in the ton do not have the same freedom as men.

Eloise cannot travel alone as a single woman; she must have a chaperone. Scotland is the only way to escape the ton, so an Eloise spinoff would cut all ties from London. However, Eloise is not the only Bridgerton sibling whose romance spends time away from the ton. Other than Aubrey Hall and Clyvedon Castle, Benedict’s story spends time away from the ton in Wiltshire, in his home called My Cottage. Although a good chunk of Benedict and Sophie’s romance occurs in London, Eloise’s book features Benedict and Sophie living at My Cottage with their children during the off-season.
Naturally, Francesca’s story also takes place in Scotland most of the time. When Michael (or Michaela in Bridgerton) becomes the Earl of Kilmartin, it solidifies Scotland as Francesca’s home. Between Eloise, Benedict, and Francesca, Benedict’s romance is first. Bridgerton already changed the book order by pushing Colin and Penelope to season 3, so it does not necessarily mean Benedict is next. However, showrunner Jess Brownell has said that it’s Benedict’s story that “opens up the world of the show in a big way,” thus signaling that if Bridgerton ever plans to create an Eloise spinoff, it would most likely occur after Benedict’s season.
