Awkward Reunion Alert: Susanna Reid Flat-Out Refuses to Hug Piers Morgan on His Big Good Morning Britain Comeback After 1,453 Days – Did She Just Reignite Their Feud in Front of Millions?

Susanna Reid appeared to snub Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain today as he went in for a hug on his return to the show 1,453 days after storming out.

The journalist, 59, made a shock appearance on the programme this morning to talk about his own experience falling out with Donald Trump.

Piers sensationally quit Good Morning Britain in March 2021 following an explosive row with weatherman Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle.

But his return got off to a shaky start when Susanna seemed to refuse to hug him as he sat down on the GMB sofa for the first time in four years.

As she was introducing her former co-host, Susanna was interrupted by Piers who said: ‘Hang on!

‘Are we just going to ignore the fact that I haven’t been here for 1,453 days?’

Piers then jokingly said ‘am I not even going to get a hug?’ as he shuffled along the sofa to embrace her.

Susanna quickly replied ‘no I don’t want a hug’ but Piers insisted, saying ‘come on, come on’.

She eventually accepted and the pair, who used to host GMB together, shared a brief hug on the show’s sofa.

Their reunion came as Piers also called for Beresford to be brought back into the studio to ‘get the whole family back together’.

The weather forecaster was doing conveniently doing outside broadcast from Marlow, Buckinghamshire, for the whole programme.

Speaking on the ITV show today, Piers said Donald Trump wanted ‘peace not war’, with his main goal being to end the two conflicts that are raging in Ukraine and Israel.

He criticised how Trump and JD Vance rounded on President Zelensky in front of cameras on Friday, but said it was important to focus on the ‘bigger picture’.

Piers also shared his own insight on the US president, who reportedly called him after the fallout in the Oval Office.

He said: ‘You either kiss the ring a bit or don’t. We know he responds well to flattery.’

‘I’ve had screaming matches with Donald Trump and then an hour later we are laughing and joking doing a fun interview, literally,’ he added.

‘I always think with him, focus on what he does, not what he says or the general drama and chaos.

‘Secondly I think that he is, almost uniquely in modern times, a Republican president in America who wants peace not war.’

Piers also spoke about how he thought Sir Keir Starmer had ‘played a blinder’ in his meeting with Trump on Thursday.

He said he was pleased the Labour leader had found his ‘mojo’ as prime minister.

Piers made the surprise announcement that he would be returning to GMB on X last night.

He wrote: ‘BREAKING: It’s been nearly 4yrs (1,453 days to be precise!) since I departed @gmb rather hastily… but tomorrow morning, for the first time, I’m going back.

‘I’ll be on with @susannareid100 & @edballs at 8.15am.’

Despite Piers not initially revealing the reason for his return, fans flooded him with support.

One said: ‘Missed you. Come back everyday.’

A second replied: ‘Not the same without you @piersmorgan.’
