Whether you are a die-hard fan or new to the franchise, here’s everything you need to know about The Lincoln Lawyer season 4, possibility, potential plot, the release date, the cast and here is also season 3 ending explained in brief.
Will there be a season 4 of The Lincoln Lawyer? Here’s everything we know so far
Has The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 been greenlit?
Alas, no, not so far anyway. We do not know for certain whether there will be a season 4 of the legal drama. Usually, Netflix takes a little time to confirm after looking at the viewership figures and general audience reception to gauge whether producing another season will be worthwhile commercially. And we must not forget that the streaming giant has cancelled many seemingly-popular shows. While it’s unlikely that we won’t see more of The Lincoln Lawyer, it is a possibility.
That being said, there is a strong chance that we will soon hear that The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 is in the works for many reasons. The first and probably the foremost reason (for Netflix, at least) is that the show has always been pretty popular and the critical reviews of The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 are universally positive (100 per cent on the review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes).
The second reason, which is more important to the show’s fans, is that The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 ended on a cliffhanger. When shows or movies end on cliffhangers, viewers expect (and deserve) a continuation and payoff. And since we know, there is already a book titled The Law of Innocence (2020) that deals with Mickey Haller being accused of murder (the series is an adaptation of Michael Connelly’s novels).
The third reason is, that the showrunners Dailyn Rodriguez and Ted Humphrey have hinted in a recent interview that they are already working on season 4. While speaking to Variety, Rodriguez said, “Season 4 is based on The Law of Innocence, and it’s all about Mickey being accused of Sam Scales’ murder. So that’s the next book we’re adapting.”
Here’s what happens in The Lincoln Lawyer season 3: Ending Explained
This season, the show, while retaining the legal drama elements, also felt like a suspenseful thriller series and was full of twists and revelations. Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) is plunged into a threatening web of danger, betrayal, and conspiracy that reaches its peak in season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer. He investigates the murder of his former client, Gloria Dayton (also known as Glory Days), only to find himself caught in a deadly game that threatens his life. The mystery grows as Mickey confronts serious threats to his safety and run-ins with powerful figures associated with drug trafficking. A major twist unfolds as ex-detective Neil Bishop reveals in court that it was actually DEA agent James De Marco who murdered Glory Days. He (Bishop) kills himself in court, and De Marco gets away with justice by fleeing the country.
The season ends with a cliffhanger, which sends Mickey’s life spinning down into even greater chaos. He is pulled over by police who discover the body of his former client, Sam Scales, in the trunk of his car. He is under arrest and his fate hangs precariously in the balance.

What will happen in The Lincoln Lawyer season 4?
So what can we expect from The Lincoln Lawyer season 4? Those who have read the book don’t have to expect it, even if we all know the show will be taking certain liberties with the source material.
Here is an official synopsis of the book from Amazon:
“On the night he celebrates a big win, defence attorney Mickey Haller is pulled over by police, who find the body of a former client in the trunk of his Lincoln. Haller is immediately charged with murder but can’t post the exorbitant $5 million bail slapped on him by a vindictive judge. Mickey elects to represent himself and is forced to mount his defence from his jail cell in the Twin Towers Correctional Center in downtown Los Angeles. All the while he needs to look over his shoulder—as an officer of the court he is an instant target, and he makes few friends when he reveals a corruption plot within the jail. But the bigger plot is the one against him. Haller knows he’s been framed, whether by a new enemy or an old one. As his trusted team, including his half-brother, Harry Bosch, investigates, Haller must use all his skills in the courtroom to counter the damning evidence against him. Even if he can obtain a not-guilty verdict, Mickey understands that it won’t be enough. In order to be truly exonerated, he must find out who really committed the murder and why. That is the law of innocence.”
It must be noted that the first book, titled simply The Lincoln Lawyer (2005), has also been adapted into a 2011 movie, making it one of the few books to be adapted into both TV shows and movies.
