Cardi B recently jumped on X to address some of her haters and the people unsure about her next project’s success. On Saturday (June 29), the “WAP” rapper let everyone know she’s “locked and ready to go.” She continued: “Every thing I said I would do this year, I’m going to do it. Nothing is going to stop me. I proved myself before and I’m going to do it again… now rest.”

While it’s unclear what prompted this response, Cardi B wants fans to know she has everything under control. Cardi B’s 2018 debut, with Invasion Of Privacy, put the rising star on the mat. Incorporating elements of her Latin heritage and Hip Hop, Cardi created a new lane for herself. “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “Bartier Cardi” were just a few of the album’s hit singles. The former Love and Hip Hop star later earned two Grammy nominations and won for Best Rap Album in 2019.

This isn’t the first nor the last time Cardi B has addressed her opps. During her acceptance speech for the 2024 Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, she talked about the unfair standards placed on female rap artists. “I just want to say thank [you] Jason [Lee] so much for this award,” she began. “I’m really my biggest critic and I always say this, ‘Nobody has it harder in the industry and in every genre than a female rapper.” Cardi added, “You have to have the best verse. Not only that, you have to kill the charts. On top of that, your personal life has to be perfect, or then the opp b*tches are going to use that against you.”

Cardi B also addressed the rumors surrounding her tumultuous relationship with her husband Offset: “‘Your husband. Your husband.’ Shut up…I make more money than all the n**ggayou’re f*cking. So you know sometimes it is hard to be yourself. It is hard to want to push yourself into the music because sometimes I don’t like showing weakness in my music because ‘You can’t see the p*ssy in me b*tch.’”
