House of the Dragon viewers were left horrified by an extremely graphic incest sex scene in the latest episode of the hit HBO show.

Sunday night’s installment of the Game of Thrones spinoff series featured a very racy moment that showed actor Matt Smith‘s character getting intimate with his own mother.

Immediately, ‘disgusted’ viewers rushed to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts – and they were not pleased with the X-rated scene.

The graphic portrayal showed Daemon Targaryen, played by Smith, having a very sensual dream about his mother, Alyssa Targaryen, during a visit to the haunted Harrenhal castle.

The dream began with him and his mother standing naked together, before she leaned in to romantically kiss his forehead.

At one point, Daemon and his mom were seen passionately making out as he wrapped his arms around her naked body. And at another, they were seen engaging in oral sex

It then showed him caressing her shoulder and slowly moving his hand down her arm before he started to kiss her neck, all while she speaks to him about the fight for the crown – and his brother Viserys’ time as King.

‘Daemon, you were always the strong one,’ she said. ‘The finest swordsman. The fearless dragon rider.

‘Your brother had great love in his heart, but he lacked your constitution. Viserys was unsuited for the crown.

‘But you Daemon, you were made to wear it. If only you’d been born first. My favorite son.’

At one point, Daemon and his mom, portrayed by Emeline Lambert, were seen passionately making out as he wrapped his arms around her naked body.

Later, they were seen engaging in oral sex.

The scene ended with his mom lying lifeless in bed and Daemon – who is married to his own niece, Rhaenyra Targaryen, starring horrified at his bloody hands.

It was later revealed that the hallucination was put in his head by Alys Rivers, who is purposely messing with him by forcing him to have dark visions.

Immediately after it premiered on Sunday, ‘disgust

However, the fact that the intimate moment between mother and son only took place in Daemon’s head did little to quell the outrage among viewers, many of whom were quick to share their criticisms on social media.

‘Daemon having sex with his mother is next level disgusting,’ one person wrote.

‘I know Targaryen’s have weird customs… but this is absolutely gross. Whose idea was this?’

‘That was very weird and uncomfortable to watch,’ added another.

‘The sex scene distracts from the message they were trying convey and doesn’t add much. Odd choice from the writing room,’ someone else posted.

‘That scene with Daemon and his mom was highly unnecessary,’ agreed a different user.

 ‘The writers are so f**king twisted for this,’ read a fifth tweet, while a sixth said, ‘That scene with Daemon and his mom was [so] traumatizing and weird.’

‘House of Dragons, y’all need to relax with this incest,’ scathed someone else.

‘Tell me, good people, why I had to watch Daemon f**k his own mother on House of the Dragon,’ wrote another uncomfortable viewer.

‘Boy House of the Dragon took dark to a new level. I mean incest is a part of its history, but Harrenahl haunting Daemon and having him hallucinating and seeing himself eating out his mom was something I was not expecting,’ read a different tweet.

House of the Dragon viewers are no strangers to incest being depicted in the series.

Throughout the first season, Daemon got physical with his much-younger niece, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, ultimately going on to wed her and welcome children together.

Created by Martin and Ryan Condal, the show is based off of a portion of George R. R. Martin’s 2018 novel Fire & Blood.

It takes place nearly 200 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones, and lifts a lid on the history of the iconic Targaryen House – the former rulers of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.
