Megan Thee Stallion Brings Out Yuki Chiba For VMA Performance Of 'Mamushi' | WDAS

Yuki Chiba made history this week as one of the first Japanese artists to perform on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).

On September 11th, Chiba joined Megan Thee Stallion at New York’s UBS Arena for an explosive performance of their viral hit single, ‘Mamushi’. This milestone performance follows his first appearance with Megan back in July, where they closed the final show of her ‘Hot Girl Summer Tour’ at London’s O2 Arena.

‘Mamushi’, which blends English and Japanese lyrics, has taken the internet by storm since its release earlier this year, propelling Chiba into the international spotlight. The track, from Megan’s independent debut album ‘Megan’, became a viral sensation on TikTok, with its catchy hooks and slick choreography playing key roles in its success.

Megan, who was also hosting the 2024 VMAs, paused her duties to deliver a rapid-fire medley of hit tracks from her latest album. The set incorporated elements of Japanese culture, featuring taiko drummers and a stage design decorated with Japanese lyrics from ‘Mamushi’.
