With the 2024 Paris Olympics just four days away, Sha’Carri Richardson is geared up for the big event. She recently received Cardi B’s heartwarming and encouraging words. The sprinter has shared an unseen clip of her and the singer from their collaboration on ‘When Sha’Carri Met Cardi B’ with NBC Universal.

Richardson is poised to compete in her maiden Olympics after a setback during the 2020 Tokyo Games. She was forced to withdraw from the US Olympic team after she tested positive for cannabis use. However, the athlete has made a notable comeback and has advanced for the Paris Olympics.

Sha’Carri Richardson shared a video with Cardi B, in which the latter opened up about her feelings for the sprinter. The two collaborated with NBC for an advertisement for the 2024 Summer Games, in which both ladies were seen sharing stories related to their respective career pursuits while getting their nails done.

The 24-year-old athlete shared the video on Instagram, as the Grammy Award winner could be seen in tears while complimenting the athlete. Cardi B said:

“So special. Like really, you are more than just an athlete. You are really special.”

Richardson also added a heartfelt caption on the social media post that read:

“Ready for Paris with my girl @iamcardib supporting me! The Paris Olympic start Friday on NBC and Peacock.”

Sha’Carri Richardson qualified for the 100m event at the Paris Olympics after producing a dominant performance at the US Olympic Trials. However, she couldn’t make it to the 200m dash as he finished fourth in the finals.

Sha’Carri Richardson opens up about shooting with Cardi B

Sha’Carri Richardson recently shared her experience of shooting with Cardi B for the aforementioned advertisement with NBC Universal. In an interview with ‘The Spun,’ she praised the rapper for being “down-to-earth.”

“Oh my gosh! I would honestly say just that experience altogether was phenomenal.” Sha’Carri Richardson said. “She was a very down-to-Earth person and just very relatable.”

Richardson added:

“Us actually being able to have a dialogue that was just powerful women talking to each other that understand where they started and where they want to go and seeing that every day just takes a different level of commitment to be in the position where we are career-wise or in life. It was a very powerful moment.”

The American sprinter is amped up to compete at the Paris Olympics 2024, which will take place from July 26 to August 11. She will square off against Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson, among others.
