In an exclusive conversation with the host from GRM Daily, British artist Stefflon Don opened up about the alleged beef with Nicki Minaj and expressed her apologies over the same. Back in 2018, Don reportedly got hateful comments from Nicki’s fanbase, after she expressed her views on the beef between Nicki and Cardi B.
In the video released on July 4, 2024, on GRM Daily’s YouTube, Don said,
“I was like I’m not leaving it no more, so then me and the fans started arguing, and then as they’re arguing, they’re throwing her (Nicki) name around… As I’m defending myself, I’m also bringing her name into it, and it wasn’t really about that.”

Beef between Nicki Minaj and Stefflon Don explored
Back in 2018, when Nicki Minaj and Cardi B were going at each other, Stefflon Don also became a part of it over time. Nicki and Cardi went about throwing shots at each other’s claiming that both have lied about their respective fashion endorsements. At one point, Nicki even accused Cardi B of not writing her own songs.
Nicki Minaj further commented about the New York Fashion Week incident, when Cardi B allegedly got beaten up by Nicki’s friend Rah Ali. This was when Stefflon jumped into the existing beef, targetting Nicki. She then wrote:
“Ur a big grown woman talking about beating someone’s head in??? Queen??? I’m disappointed in you so many people look up to you, show us better.”
This comment triggered Nicki Minaj’s loyal fanbase, who are usually known as Barbz, and they ended up bashing Stefflon. She soon took to Instagram and posted stories to respond to the attack by the fanbase. In one Instagram story, she wrote:
“Got something coming for these dusty GARBS I mean Barbs soon.”
The 32-year-old rapper further wrote in another Instagram story:
“These people are crazy the way I would love to slap one of dem. STEFF SAYS WHAT THE F**K STEFF WANTS TO SAY! Do i look like a puppet B***hes wanna act like they 10 n yes i will say something about it. YES i said i am DISSAPONTED in her yyyy because the gal old enough to be someones grandmother.”
In the latest interview, Stefflon revealed that she was fond of Nicki, as much as she loved Cardi B. She further revealed that she had no idea how big the matter was to get.
Stefflong previously addressed the feud with Nicki Minaj fans
In 2021, Stefflon Don further decided to take accountability for her reportedly colorist X(formerly Twitter) post that she made during her beef with Nicki Minaj.
She wrote in a now-removed tweet about how the audience would bring up her past seemingly problematic comments whenever she made an appearance on a blog. She ended up posting a screengrab of an X post she made back in 2013, where she wrote:
“All you dark-skinned hating on light skinned b****es dont act like if god gave you a choice you wouldn’t change your colour lool…”
In 2021, she acknowledged it and took accountability for it as well. She wrote on X:
“Yes this was me almost 10 years ago. Ignorant and angry So I directed this tweet at a girl who shaded me for my colour.”
She further addressed the audience and netizens that she had grown up a lot since then and had already apologized for her comments. She further hoped to move on from the incident and expected people to do the same as well.
In March 2021, Stefflon addressed the rumors of her beef with Nicki and claimed that she “loved her as an artist.” She continued that she didn’t know that Nicki Minaj was getting hate due to her comments.
