Rapper Cardi B recently opened up on Instagram Live about her troubled relationship with estranged husband Offset, highlighting the personal struggles they’ve faced during their increasingly messy split.
The couple, who married in 2017, has been making headlines as accusations fly from both sides, fuelling public interest in their ongoing drama.
Despite the headlines, a source told Page Six that the couple had “grown apart” and that cheating allegations didn’t influence Cardi’s decision to file for divorce. According to the source, distance was vital in her decision to end things.
This isn’t the first time Cardi has filed for divorce. The WAP rapper filed for divorce in September 2020, citing irreconcilable differences after three years of marriage, but eventually called it off.
ABC News reported in August that the rapper announced her pregnancy with their third child, and Cardi revealed she was moving forward with the divorce.
She expressed her mixed feelings in the pregnancy reveal on an Instagram post, writing, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you. You have brought me more love, more life, and most of all, renewed my power!”
She added, “You’ve reminded me I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion.”
During the Instagram Live, Cardi B accused Offset of repeatedly cheating throughout their relationship. In response, Offset made a shocking claim in the comments, accusing her of sleeping with someone else while pregnant with their third child.
Cardi B’s emotional outburst marked a new low in their divorce battle. “I’m tired of protecting people,” she declared during the live session.
The couple, who share three children, Kulture, Wave and a newborn baby, has been known for their public feuds and reconciliation.
