Even before Emily in Paris returned for its third season, season four was already in the works. In January 2022, Netflix confirmed that Emily in Paris will be coming back for additional chapters, writing on Instagram, “Say ‘bonjour’ to 3 & 4! 💋”
Here’s everything we know about season four of Emily in Paris.
Lily Collins will return as Emily.
We can also expect to see the rest of the main cast appear in season four: Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, William Abadie, and Lucien Laviscount.
“Our writers on the show were so collaborative. Darren [Star]’s characters are so genuine and complex and funny. I think he succeeds in that because he really starts to write for his actors, and what I immediately connected to with Mindy is that she’s a really great friend. She’s an effortless friend; she’s really good at comforting while also calling someone out; and she leads with humor. Those are all qualities that I value in myself and the people around me,” Park told Town & Country about her character, Mindy.
Filming on the show was delayed.
The fourth season was set to start filming in late summer or early fall 2023, but due to the writer’s strike, the start date was pushed back by two months, according to Variety. In January 2024, Netflix shared that the show is officially in production, posting a picture of Collins with a script:
In April 2024, Collins was pictured filming in Paris with France’s first lady, Brigitte Macron. Collins previously shared that Macron is a “really big fan of the show.”
No premiere date has been set yet.
“Season 4 is going to be more about navigating complicated relationships; personal relationships and work relationships, and how they come into conflict with each other…Emily is still going to be working with Alfie, Gabriel, and Camille. Those work relationships are really fraught with emotional conflicts,” creator Darren Star said.
While we wait, rewatch all of Emily in Paris now on Netflix.
