Netflix Confirms Emily In Paris Season 5, Here's All The Tea

Hold onto your berets people — Netflix has just confirmed that Emily in Paris is officially coming back for a fifth season, and this it looks like our girl Emily is swapping croissants for cannoli for a little while longer as she stays in Rome!

In a quick nine second announcement video, Lily Collins, AKA Emily, teased her new adventures in Italy while sipping an espresso. “There’s no place like Rome!” she exclaimed. Me as fuck when I’m eating spag bol.

Oh I’m so ready!!

Creator Darren Star reassured fans that while Emily will be exploring the streets of Rome, she won’t completely abandon her Parisian roots. “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome,” he noted per Tudum.

“Season 5 of Emily in Paris? Yes, please! Can’t wait for more drama and style,” said one excited TikTok user. Although style may be a generous term, it’s clear that fans are already buzzing with excitement for the new season.

I’m very upset I didn’t come up with this iconic pun.

“But I need this asap please and mercii,” said another eager fan.

What we know about Emily In Paris Season 5 so far

So where did we leave off? Season four ended with Emily in Rome, enjoying the company of her new love interest, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). But hold on — Gabrielle (Lucas Bravo) seems to be on a mission to find her, which could lead to some seriously awkward love triangle moments. Literally how does Emily always have two men fighting over her — what am I doing wrong?!

I’m fully Team Marcello BTW.

And let’s not forget about our beloved Mindy (Ashley Park). She joins Emily in Rome for a little post-breakup escape and thank God because I might just die if we don’t get more friendship goals scenes between her and Emily!

I love that they’re IRL besties too

Luckily Darren is set on keeping friendship at the centre of Emily’s story. “Friendship is so important,” he told PEDESTRIAN.TV.

“Especially in terms of Emily In Paris, when you come alone to a foreign country, the friends you meet become so much more valuable to you.”

You’d think she’d update her phone case four seasons in.

From my overthinking perspective, I reckon this means we’ll be getting some new faces to add to the bestie group chat in Rome and I’m all for it!

Meanwhile, back in Paris, Julien (Samuel Arnold) and Luc (Bruno Gouery) will likely be sweating bullets as they try to keep Geneviève (Thalia Besson) from taking over Emily’s life and work. Will they be able to hold her off long enough for Emily to figure out her next move? I’m already stressed.

She’s definitely pulled some shady moves in season four.

Emily In Paris, to me, is a show about the importance of travel and leaving your comfort zone,” Darren told PEDESTRIAN.TV.

So as we gear up for Season 5, we may see Emily become more independent and trying new things AKA gelato Insta pics instead of croissant Insta pics.

But don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll still get the staples from the show, including more bonkers outfits, messy romantic entanglements and professional mishaps that would make any HR department cry.

Netflix hasn’t confirmed when season five is expected to air, so let’s all cross our fingers for a 2025 premiere date!!
