American Riviera Orchard is Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle brand, but not much has been shared about the business until now, with sources saying it will launch next year.
Meghan Markle fans won’t have to wait much longer for her next Netflix project to drop, according to a source.
Filming for Meghan’s new show wrapped up in July and it’s believed the series will tie in with her new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard. The Netflix series will “celebrate the joys of cooking and gardening, entertaining and friendship”.
Not much is known about the show, but a source has now claimed it will be getting released “early next year”. While fans will no doubt be excited for the new release, some critics have already slammed the idea as “bloody awful”.
The Netflix show will be Meghan’s “take on her and the joy of living,” the source said and will include things she’s “learned in terms of being a modern-day hostess.” They suggested viewers can expect “familiar faces from pop culture to culinary to beauty” to guest star.
Speaking to Us Weekly, the source said Meghan’s new show will be released in connection to American Riviera Orchard. Addressing her new business they added: “[American Riviera Orchard] will likely be very much in line with who Meghan is as a person.
“She loves hosting events, and she’s very thoughtful about how she treats her guests whenever they come over.” The Duchess of Sussex is said to be focusing all of her time and energy on American Riviera Orchard, with the source suggesting that “running for office, returning to acting and writing a memoir” are not on her to do list.
Critics have already been sharing their thoughts on Meghan’s Netflix cooking show. Sky News host Rita Panahi slammed: “Meghan Markle has just wrapped up filming on a new cooking and home show for Netflix, a show which has yet to receive a formal title or air date, as part of the Sussexes $100m deal and was filmed at a property near their Montecito mansion in Los Angeles.
“It’s apparently going to focus on the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship – and I’ve gotta say, it sounds bloody awful.” Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams also told The Mirror US: “It [the Sussexes’ deal with Netflix] runs out next year and Netflix are no longer producing the series of The Crown, as they previously were. They might therefore have less interest in the Sussexes.
“If they lost this contract, with Archewell, their business and charitable foundation, having so few donors, they might well be in financial trouble. Since their exposés of royal life has made megabucks, but little else has made money, the Royal Family better hope that this unpredictable and ruthlessly ambitious couple stays with Netflix.”
