Megan Thee Stallion's new album is a bold rebirth | Entertainment | miamitimesonline.com

Megan Thee Stallion is ready to unveil her next artistic transformation with the announcement of her third studio album ‘Megan’, slated for release on June 28.

The rap phenomenon and Texas Southern product made the reveal during her ‘Hot Girl Summer’ tour stop in Atlanta, later sharing the album cover across social media.

The cover art encapsulates the record’s theme of “renewal” and “rebirth” that Megan has been exploring. It depicts the Grammy winner emerging upside down from a butterfly cocoon in what appears to be a building lobby, with an imposing “M” looming behind her.

This metamorphic imagery continues Megan’s recent use of animal representation, following a string of serpentine-themed singles like “Cobra,” “Boa,” and her chart-topping “Hiss.” However, the Houston native insists ‘Megan’ won’t be limited to snakes.

“Renewal, rebirth: that is the whole concept of this [album],” she explained to L’OFFICIEL. “I like darker things. I like things that are a little scary. I like things that are unique. I picked the snake because…it’s kind of like an antihero.”

While the album explores new creative territory, Megan assured it will still capture her distinctive essence. “It’s still very much Megan Thee Stallion. It won’t feel like I went so left. It’ll feel true to me,” she told the magazine. “You’ll almost be like, ‘I wouldn’t have thought she would’ve rapped over that, but this sounds great.’”

After months of anticipation, the “Savage” hitmaker is preparing to unveil her latest reinvention with ‘Megan’. Through a realm of purposefully edgy, animalistic sounds and visuals, Megan Thee Stallion is poised to embrace her role as rap’s compelling anti-heroine.
