The rapper also filmed a video with the presumptive Democratic nominee backstage.
Megan Thee Stallion is ready to be Kamala Harris’ body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody guard.
After performing at the politician’s campaign rally in Atlanta Tuesday (July 30), the rapper — dressed to impress in a blue pantsuit — posted a video backstage with her backup dancers doing the viral TikTok choreography to her song “Mamushi.” In her caption, she jokingly declared that she’s joined the cause as “Thee new Head of Security 😂💙🇺🇸.”
Also posting the clip on Instagram, Meg coined a new phrase for the sitting VP’s campaign: “#hottiesforharris.”
“Mamushi” was one of a few songs the Texas native performed on the stage at the Georgia State Convocation Center, along with her 2020 hit “Body,” which reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. ”Now I know my ladies in the crowd love their bodies,” she said before diving into the latter track. “If you want to keep loving your bodies, you know who to vote for.”
Behind the scenes, Meg also filmed a video with Harris for the presumptive Democratic nominee’s TikTok account, which has accumulated more than 3 million followers the few days since it was launched. “What’s up, hotties? This is Megan Thee Stallion, aka the Hot Girl Coach, reporting live with the future president of the United States!” the musician says, filming the clip selfie-style as Harris smiles at the camera. “What do you have to say to the American people?”
“We are not going back,” the former senator replies.
Thee Stallion is one of several stars who’ve voiced support for Harris since the VP announced she was running for president in place of Joe Biden, who dropped out of the race July 21 before quickly endorsing his second-in-command for the role. Migos’ Quavo spoke at Harris’ Atlanta event, while Cardi B, Lizzo, Ariana Grande, John Legend and more have all posted in support of the campaign.
