Meet Justine Lupe, aka Kristen Bell's sister in Nobody Wants This: the breakout star was pregnant while filming the Netflix show, and was also in Succession and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel |

The Juilliard-trained actress, who grew up in Colorado making amateur comedy sketches with her brother Colin, has since given birth to her baby and credited her cast and crew with supporting her.

Nobody Wants This, Netflix’s latest romcom, is turning up the heat on the streaming platform. Per Business Insider, the show, created by Erin Foster and loosely inspired by her own love story, brings together two unlikely lovers – a podcaster (Kristen Bell) and a laid-back rabbi (Adam Brody).

The 10-episode series dropped on September 26 and wasted no time shooting up to second place on Netflix’s global charts, per Screen Rant.

After the show hit Netflix, one of the actresses dropped a surprise bombshell on her Instagram: she was actually pregnant while filming! Justine Lupe, 35, who plays Bell’s sister Morgan in the series, let fans in on the behind-the-scenes secret: she was expecting during the entire first half of production, revealing how no one on set knew about it until a late-night wardrobe malfunction blew her cover.

“I want to clarify that the cast and crew did know I was pregnant as soon as it was safe to share,” Lupe later added on Instagram in October. “As women who have carried a baby know, there is a higher risk of miscarriage in the first few months of pregnancy so it’s emotionally risky to share too early.”

“I only care to make this clear because every single person on this set made sure I was cosy and taken care of,” she added, before going on to praise Bell, Foster and others for supporting her throughout.

Lupe’s popped up in some major shows throughout her career. She played Willa Ferreyra in Succession from 2018 to 2023, and appeared in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel from 2017 to 2023. She was also in six episodes of Apple TV+’s The Big Door Prize earlier this year, according to her IMDb page.

Her role in Succession was originally just a brief guest spot. According to The Independent, she was supposed to appear in only three episodes, and a break-up scene was already written for Willa and Con. But as the script evolved, so did her character, with Willa sticking around.

By 2020, Lupe had become a series regular. “I went from 27 to 33 years old on this show, which is a huge transition from being kind of a girl into being a woman,” she told the outlet.
