It appears that Emily In Paris star Lucas Bravo wants to get far, far away from Emily and the whole Parisian circus. He didn’t seem to be too into the show when PEDESTRIAN.TV interviewed him earlier this year, and now he’s put the final nail in the coffin — by hinting he won’t return for season five.
Look, it’s no secret Bravo is kinda over his role as hot chef Gabriel, but his latest comments are seriously sassy. Netflix, come and get your charge! He’s gone rogue!
He told French publication Le Figaro that the relationship between Gabriel and Emily (Lily Collins) is all based on miscommunication, something he finds “archaic”.
“These days, the new generation verbalises, they confront, and that no longer works in this case, we do not understand each other,” he said. “People see this mechanism coming from miles away, and I don’t want to be part of a cog that tends not to consider the intelligence of the audience.”
He may be hot on the outside, but he’s dead on the inside. When he’s filming EIP, that is.
He added that he’s over the show and doesn’t want to waste another second on it.
“Life is short. It takes five months to shoot this series. Do I want to sacrifice them by telling something that does not stimulate me?” he said. “I don’t really have any freedom [with Emily In Paris]. And as people are starting to give it to me elsewhere, I am getting a taste for it.”
When Bravo joined the cast to launch Emily In Paris season four part two in Italy, a source noted that he didn’t seem very enthusiastic.
“Behind the scenes, it felt like he didn’t want to be there,” the insider told PEDESTRIAN.TV. “From countless smoke breaks to fed-up responses, he left a sour taste in some people’s mouths.”
“I hope you’re happy with Emily, I have better things to do,” – Bravo, probably. (Image: Netflix)
I kinda get the feeling that Bravo is kicking up a fuss so that Netflix quietly give him the chop. While Emily In Paris is what made him famous, he has some other movie projects in the works.
Fans will be able to see him play Bruno Sulak in a French biopic called Libre when it drops on Prime Video next month, and he’s also been cast in Turn Up the Sun!, a British thriller with James McAvoy and Aisling Franciosi.
His turning on Emily In Paris is kind of biting the hand that feeds you, but I’m living for the drama. Can’t wait for Bravo’s next rogue comments!
