Dax Shephard also ships Joanne and Noah in ‘Nobody Wants This’.

If you’re among the millions who were instantly infatuated by the chemistry between Kristen Bell and Adam Brody in Netflix’s new series Nobody Wants This, you’re not alone. In fact, Bell’s husband, Dax Shephard, shares your feelings.

In a recent interview with E! to promote the show, the actress spoke about her husband’s reaction to her and Brody’s on-screen relationship that the Internet has been obsessing over.

“Even I can acknowledge watching it, like, ‘Whoa, that’s hot,’” she confessed. “My husband said the same thing.”

Bell then recalled how Shephard caught himself rooting for Joanne (Bell) and Noah (Brody) almost immediately.

“Watching the first episode, he was like, ‘Oh my god, I want you to kiss him so badly.’”

As for what goes into establishing that kind of chemistry? The Veronica Mars star explained that “there is a math to” the connection.

“You have two actors that know how to stare dopily into each other’s eyes,” she said, “and you have to have the confidence to expand that and really sit the anticipatory value before the kiss—which I think is really important.”

This isn’t the first time Bell, 44, has been open about Shepard, 49, championing her during loved-up scenes—it’s all part and parcel with a Hollywood romance, after all.

“He likes it when I fall in love onscreen in front of him,” she said during a 2019 appearance on Conan. “If he’s watching by himself and I’m in the kitchen, I’ll hear him go, ‘Honey, get some!’ from the living room,” Bell detailed, calling him a “great wingman.”

Having been married since 2013, Bell and the Armchair Expert podcast co-host have been together for over a decade and share two daughters, Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9.

Similarly, Brody began dating Leighton Meester in early 2013. The couple also has two children, whose names have not been revealed to the public.
