Lily Collins

Lily Collins is in Rome to shoot a portion of “Emily in Paris” Season 4, which wrapped filming in France last week, she announced on Instagram.

The hit Netflix show started shooting in January in Paris ahead of the Olympic Games, which will kick off on July 26, for which the French capital is now in final preparatory stages.

Collins on Saturday posted a photo of herself and Ashley Park, who plays Mindy Chen on the comedy series, which a caption that said: “Next stop: Rome!”

Incidentally, Season 4 is shaping up to be a big one for Mindy who is reportedly headed to Eurovision.

Then, in a subsequent Instagram post on Sunday, Collins revealed that she had arrived in Rome by posting a picture of herself in front of the Colosseum.

The fact that Season 4 of “Emily in Paris” will have a Rome component is not a novelty. It was teased by Collins to fans during Netflix’s Tudum event last June when she said: “While Emily’s heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes an unexpected twist this season. Don’t be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.”

That said, it’s not known how many episodes of “Emily in Paris” will be filmed in the Eternal City, or how Italy will be woven into the show’s storyline.

Netflix on Tuesday declined to comment on the “Emily in Paris” Italy shoot.

Season 3 of the show boasted a queer storyline, a love triangle and a cliffhanger involving a pregnancy. Within six days after launching, it garnered 117.6 million hours viewed and landed in the Top 10 in 93 countries.

Though Netflix has not announced a specific release date for the upcoming “Emily in Paris” season – production of which was slowed down by the writers’ strike – the streamer’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos said on its first-quarter earnings call earlier this month that it will premiere during the second half of this year.
