Lady Deadpool’s film could show why she was deemed a threat to her timeline by the TVA, as well as how she became part of the Deadpool Corps.

Before Deadpool & Wolverine was released, one of the biggest mysteries surrounding the movie was who was going to play Lady Deadpool. The MCU revealed that Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively, Reynolds’ wife, was behind the character, as many speculated. While Lively was fun in the role, Lady Deadpool’s face was never seen, and the character was pretty much only in the movie for an action sequence. These are direct-to-streaming productions that are set in the MCU, akin to television specials of old like those made by Rankin Bass.

As of 2024, two Marvel Studios Special Presentations have been released: Werewolf By Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. A Lady Deadpool special could be a good way to continue the story without the expense of a theatrical release. Additionally, it could avoid the pitfalls of recasting famous voice actors who may not want to commit to a film or a full series.
