Royal family’s Halloween plans revealed as Kate Middleton looks to take kids trick-or-treating.
If you thought the royals don’t indulge in a little spookiness, think again.
Like millions of children around the world, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have taken part in Halloween festivities each year.
The trio are currently spending some downtime from school with their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, at their home in Anmer Hall, where they often retreat during school breaks.
And while George, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 6, are currently on break from Lambrook School, it’s expected that the family will be switching up their tiaras for spooky masks this week.
“Halloween is a holiday that the younger royals quite enjoy,” King Charles’ former butler, Grant Harrold, exclusively told The Post. “The older Royals don’t really mark Halloween, so it’s not so much of an occasion for them.”
In previous years, Princess Catherine was spotted rolling up her sleeves and getting involved with the spooky holiday.
“When it comes to trick-or-treating, we know Kate is keen to keep things as normal as possible for the children and heading out trick-or-treating could very well be her wanting to keep up with tradition and ensuring the children don’t miss out,” the former palace staffer noted.
“Kate is all about family and spending quality time with her loved ones will be top of her priorities this holiday.”
In fact, onlookers previously spotted the princess buying Halloween costumes for her and William’s children at a local supermarket.
What’s more, the family is known for going trick-or-treating each year.

In 2022, Princess Catherine participated in festivities near the family’s Kensington Palace home in London.
In one photo, Middleton could be seen standing by a neighbor’s gate with George, Charlotte and Louis. While the snap was taken from a distance, the princess was seen holding a bag in which she put her children’s sweet treats.
“For anyone doubting how down to earth William and Kate are … This is Kate with their kids knocking on our door in London trick-or-treating at Halloween,” Middleton’s neighbor Jay Rutland wrote.
“Kate is all about family and spending quality time with her loved ones will be top of her priorities this holiday,” Harrold told The Post
Rutland is wed to the British heiress Tamara Ecclestone, and the couple resides just a few doors down from Kensington Palace.
After what’s been a tough year for the family following Middleton’s cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment, as well as the King’s own cancer battle, Harrold notes that it’s possible the royals will want to mark Halloween with a small private party at home.
“You could understand if [Catherine] wanted to keep within the confines of the royal homes with their own private party and inviting some of their friends over,” Harrold said. “It’s safer, it’s in a more secure environment and a smoother operation.”
It’s safe to say that Princess Catherine’s love for trick-or-treating was passed down from her mother, Carole.
“Halloween is an Autumn highlight for me,” Carole previously wrote on her now-defunct Party Pieces Instagram account in 2022.
“I can still remember the fun and frights from my own childhood; the chance to dress up, decorate pumpkins and go trick-or-treating!”
“I’ve even grown my own pumpkins this year, so I’m looking forward to decorating those with my loved ones,” she wrote at the time.
