Cardi B cites self-defense for the 2018 altercation while pregnant. Trial set for May 31.

Cardi B is at the center of a legal storm. Allegations have surfaced against her in court documents filed by Emani Ellis, who claims to have been assaulted by the rapper at a medical office building in Beverly Hills on February 24, 2018.

Ellis alleges that during a confrontation, Cardi B attacked her, resulting in injuries to her head, face, and body, with the rapper’s long fingernails causing damage severe enough to necessitate plastic surgery.

Furthermore, the documents accuse Cardi B of leveraging her celebrity influence to unjustly terminate Ellis’ employment as a security guard at the facility where the incident occurred.

The complaint details how Cardi B allegedly employed threats, coercion, and physical violence to impede Ellis from performing her job duties, alongside accusations that Cardi B and her legal team have sought to delay the trial proceedings.

At the time of the altercation, Cardi B, who was pregnant with her daughter Kulture, defended her actions as self-defense. A trial is currently set for 31st May.
