Cardi B has been immersing herself in the nightlife, acknowledging it as a welcome escape during her divorce from Offset. However, during an Instagram Live session on Sunday (November 17), she assured fans that her focus is shifting back to her music, as she plans to step away from the music scene.
Cardi stated, “I feel like I been going outside [a lot].” “I have to. It’s like, I’m getting through a divorce so I have to enjoy myself. I gotta enjoy myself, you know what I’m saying?” She further explained, “But all I know is, no more outside! We gotta be inside. Chain us up to the muthafuckin’ mic!”
Cardi Reflects on Chaos, Growth, and the Road to 2025
In the same live session, Cardi revealed that her highly anticipated sophomore album will now drop in 2025, walking back her earlier pledge for a 2024 release. It’s been over six years since the Bronx native introduced Invasion of Privacy to the world, marking her last full-length release since its April 2018.
The rapper voiced, “I’ve been feeling so emotional lately.” “Because I know next year is going to be my fucking year. This has been the most weirdest year I have ever experienced. I don’t know what the fuck happened this year, I can’t even tell you. […] I fell in love. Then fell out of love, then got a divorce.”
She added further detail, expressing, “I don’t know what the fuck is going on. I’m going through a very different transition in my fucking life and life is moving a little bit too fast. I don’t want to crash. I have to get my shit together. Next year, my album will be out, my secret businesses will be out. I can’t tell you what I’m working on. Hopefully next year I get me a little boyfriend. I’m hoe-less right now. I gotta get my shit together.”
Before learning about her third pregnancy or facing martial challenges with her estranged husband, Cardi initially pledged a 2024 release for the album. Yet, her steady stream of studio updates since welcoming her baby in September suggests she’s fully back in motion and committed to meeting her revised 2025 goal.
