The estranged couple shares their daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 2½

Cardi B is filing for primary custody of her two kids.

According to a report from Page Six, the “I Like It” rapper, 31, is requesting primary custody of her daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 2½, as she files for divorce from husband Offset, 32, after six years of marriage.

A rep for Cardi did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment on Thursday, Aug. 1, and the divorce filing was not publicly available at press time.

This is the second time Cardi has filed for divorce from Offset. She previously filed in 2020 but later withdrew the documents.

During an Instagram Live in December 2023, Cardi B first confirmed that she is single but shared that she didn’t know how to break the news.

“I’ve been single for a minute now,” the rapper said at the time. “But I have been afraid … Not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been, like, a sign.”

Cardi B also confirmed that she had been dropping hints about the split to her followers by unfollowing Offset and posting cryptic messages on her story.

“I don’t know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or from my Stories, when I put some certain music, or find my unfollowings,” the rapper said.

Since then, the two have been spotted together at a Knicks playoff game and were seen holding hands at a Met Gala after-party in May.

Although their relationship has been off and on, the two are committed parents who often share their two kids on social media.

Last week, Cardi shared a sweet video on her Instagram Stories of herself and Kulture as they flipped their freshly done hair around. The mother-daughter duo wore matching pink outfits, down to their pink sandals, as they struck different poses and turned around.

“Came all the way to Brooklyn to our natural @coiffed_by_dinah,” the proud mom wrote across the photo.

For Kulture’s sixth birthday in July, both Cardi and Offset shared their love for their daughter. The mom-of-two celebrated her daughter’s big day by taking a private jet with Kulture to see some giraffes. Cardi shared the entire “jet experience” on her Instagram, sharing both posts and Stories of her daughter’s special day.

“Happy birthday to my beautiful, gentle, amazing daughter… Not only are you growing up on me but I’m growing up with you cause I learned sooo much by just being your mom,” Cardi wrote in her caption below a picture of Kulture posing in a white and pink Chrome Hearts birthday gown.

“Thank you @mattyboy90 X @chromeheartsofficial for this beautiful dress …. @offsetyrn you did that lol,” she added.

Kulture’s dad Offset also showed his love for his daughter in a birthday tribute posted to Instagram. The proud dad shared another picture of his little girl wearing her pink birthday dress, as well as a few throwbacks of the father-daughter duo.

“Happy birthday my princess kulture my special angel big 6 so fast I couldn’t believe it I love you so much happy birthday happy birthday happy birthday !!!!!🎉,” he captioned the post.
