Angel Reese has issued a fierce response to Simone Biles’ feud with her ex-Team USA Olympics gymnastics teammate, MyKayla Skinner.

Skinner caused controversy in a now-deleted podcast appearance, where she hit out at Team USA’s roster before they went on to clinch gold in the Women’s Team competition at the Paris Olympics. “Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t like what it used to be,” she said. “The girls just don’t have the work ethic.”

Biles and Co. were quick to respond on social media with several thinly veiled digs at Skinner, who claimed a silver medal at the Tokyo Games. “Lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions,” six-time Olympic gold medalist Biles wrote on Instagram, pictured alongside Jordan Chiles, Hezly Rivera, Jade Carey, and Lee holding a USA flag.

“Put a finger down if simone biles just ended you,” Lee responded to Biles’ post with a hand emoji. Chiles, an Olympic teammate of both Biles and Lee in Paris also chimed in. “And that’s on period!!” she said.

Skinner then blocked Biles on social media. “When she blocks Simone,” Chiles said. Biles followed up with on X: “Oop I’ve been blocked.” WNBA superstar Reese has since added her thoughts on Biles’ feud with her ex-teammate, Skinner. In a fiery response to Biles’ Instagram dig, Reese replied: “Clock it.”

Biles claimed her second gold medal of the Paris Games on Thursday with victory in the All-Around competition. It took the 27-year-old’s Olympic medals tally to nine, and it was her career-sixth gold. Biles is widely considered one of, if not the best, women’s gymnasts of all time, and she wore a GOAT necklace to prove it. “It’s a little ode…a lot of people love it they always call me the G.O.A.T,” she admitted. “I thought it would be really special if I got one made.”

“The haters hate it, and I love that even more. It’s just a special part of me,” she added. Biles returned to the sport last summer after a two-year break and bravely admitted to reporters that she has had weekly therapy sessions for the past three years. “Three years ago, I never thought I’d step foot on the gymnastics floor again just because of everything that had happened,” she told reporters at a press conference after winning the individual all-around medal. “But with the help of [my coach] Cecile [Landi], I got back in the gym and worked really hard mentally and physically.

“Even this morning at 7:00 a.m., I saw my therapist. And there’s a time change, so she is so amazing for allowing me to do that these couple of days here in Paris.”

Biles is set to compete in the individual vault, floor, and beam events, leaving more room for medals. Whether Biles continues into the 2028 Games on home soil is unknown – but her comeback from Tokyo and mental health will be remembered.

“It was a mental injury,” she said. “I think that was almost harder than physical because whenever you go to the doctor and you have a physical injury, they tell you three to six weeks, three to six months, all of that stuff. And so this, [there were] no time tells.”
