Squid Game fans won’t have long to wait for their next fix of the show after bingeing season two of the twisted fantasy competition game series.
It was seemingly leaked that the third installment of the record-breaking program is set to return on June 27, 2025. It comes as Netflix Korea briefly had a video go live that displayed the June date, after all previous material from the streaming service had simply said 2025.
That would be just six months after season 2 was released, making it record time comparatively with the gap between season 1 and season 2 being released, which took nearly three years.
And season 3 is set to have a notable difference from previous series.

In a new teaser for the program, which sees 456 cash-strapped individuals compete in challenges inspired by kids’ games – but with deadly consequences.
Season 2 saw the return of player 456 Seong Ji-hun (Lee Jung-jae), as he went back into the deadly games in an effort to end them once and for all after still struggling with the trauma of what happened when he took home the cash prize three years earlier.
Another familiar face in season 2 was the creepy doll that initially appeared in season one of the ‘Red Light, Green Light’ game.
The doll, who scans the players’ movements to see if anyone is still moving when it says ‘Red Light’, which leads to the non-stationary players being shot, has become a symbol of the show.

Jung Ho-yeon, who played Sae-byeok in the debut season of the program confirmed the dastardly doll was inspired by a character in Korean school textbook during an interview on Jimmy Fallon back in 2021.
In a teaser for season three of the show, which was released on New Year’s Day, the doll appears with a somewhat concerned expression on its face stood next to a male doll.
The female doll is seen standing opposite the male one, wearing a green shirt with stripes.
Teasing that the male doll could have a big part to play in the next season, Netflix wrote alongside the teaser video: “Everyone say hi to Chul-su. Squid Game 3 coming 2025.”
In one of Netflix’s YouTube channels, Still Watching Netflix, they explain the history behind both of the dolls.
They said that they regular appear in Korean education texts that are “similar to the American versions Dick and Jane or Jack and Jill”.
