Tom Hardy appears to reveal whether Venom 3 will be his final Marvel movie: ‘It’s all in her writing’

Tom Hardy seemingly sets the record straight on his future with Eddie Brock after Venom: The Last Dance as the Marvel trilogy comes to an end this fall. When it comes to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, the franchise has been one of the odder additions to the superhero movie genre, as the web-slinger has yet to appear in any of the interconnected films. However, one of the highlights of this Marvel franchise is the Venom movie series, which is returning this fall with the Venom: The Last Dance release.

In a recent social media post promoting Venom: The Last Dance, Hardy added in his comments with a heartfelt statement about his time with the Venom franchise. While thanking the fans for their support of the Venom trilogy, Hardy seemingly confirms that Venom: The Last Dance will be his final time playing the popular Marvel character, as he stated the following:

That’s all she wrote for me and the big guy we promise to make this the best of them all. We’ve loved making these. Thankyou for your ❤️and support – come join us for the Last Dance. For those of you that enjoy a good time from all of us in the team – Let us entertain you

Tom Hardy Confirms End Of Venom

Prior to these comments, Hardy hadn’t stated one way or the other if Venom: The Last Dance would be his final time portraying Eddie. But with Hardy’s statement, this marks the end of an era as the British star was the one to kick off Sony’s Spider-Man Universe back in 2018 with the first Venom film.

What Tom Hardy’s Comment Means For His Venom Future

While time will tell if Venom: The Last Dance will be the best Venom movie in the trilogy, Hardy’s comments are bittersweet. Since the first Venom film, the actor has shown his dedication to these characters, even going as far as getting more involved – to the point that Hardy has a “story by” credit on Venom: The Last Dance. Even though there have been mixed reactions to Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Hardy’s movies have at least been more favored by audiences over Madame Web and Morbius.

As Hardy finishes his era playing Venom, Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is definitely losing its strongest asset going forward, especially if he doesn’t appear in future films tied to the franchise. That’s why having Knull in Venom. The Last Dance is an even bigger deal, as it gives Venom one massive final villain to deal with before the trilogy ends. For this reason, there’s speculation Eddie and/or Venom could die in the movie. But, if not, there’s always the possibility for Hardy to reprise the role after The Last Dance – in Avengers: Secret Wars, perhaps.

Our Take On Tom Hardy’s Venom Future

Hardy’s Venom is the strongest and most stable character that has existed in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which is why it’s definitely sad to see his Marvel franchise come to an end. Beyond that, it’s unclear what will happen to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe after Kraven the Hunter is released in December, since no further movies have been announced. With that in mind, Venom: The Last Dance may be even more crucial to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe than ever, as it could mark the beginning of the end for this series of Marvel films – or the beginning of the next phase, one that deals with Knull.
