Blunt’s post-Oppenheimer box office run hasn’t been stellar. The Fall Guy came and went totally overlooked by moviegoers. Missing out on this role would be a real nightmare for her!

How This Yet-To-be-Titled Steven Spielberg Movie Could Change Things for Emily Blunt!

It’s still unclear whether Eve Hewson is in the running for the same role as Emily Blunt or a different one in Spielberg’s 2026 film. But missing out on a Spielberg project, which typically guarantees a box office hit, could be a significant blow for the talented actress.

Steven Spielberg, with multiple billion-dollar films to his name and his latest, The Fabelmans, earning seven Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, is diving into the world of UFOs with this new project. Given his track record, expectations are sky-high!

On the other hand, despite the astounding success of Oppenheimer both critically and commercially, Emily Blunt’s The Fall Guy which followed the “Barbenheimer” hype, didn’t fare as well at the box office, grossing only $180 million worldwide against a $125 million production budget as per Box Office Mojo.

Meanwhile, her husband, John Krasinski’s directorial effort, IF, managed to pull in $190.3 million globally (via Box Office Mojo), even with a stellar cast. Blunt is in dire need of another blockbuster, and Spielberg is undoubtedly the perfect choice to get her out of this dip.

The untitled Steve Spielberg film is set to release on May 15, 2026.
