attorneys for FBG Duck

he mother of Chicago rapper FBG Duck has filed a lawsuit that names rap superstar “Lil Durk” and others – including record labels and Chicago Police – in Duck’s 2020 shooting death on Chicago’s Gold Coast.

FBG Duck, whose real name is Carlton Weekly, was gunned down by a group of masked men as he waited to enter the Dolce & Gabbana store in August 2020. His girlfriend, Cashae Williams, and another man, Davon Brinson, were also wounded in the attack and named as plaintiffs in the suit.

Roosevelt Allen is an attorney for the family and said record labels profited off violence celebrated by rap artists.

“FBG Duck was a musician, a young man who didn’t just, quote, fancy himself as an artist, end quote. He was an artist. But on August 4, 2020 he was merely a young man shopping for his son.”

The lawsuit says record labels profited off violence celebrated by rap artists.

Members and associates of the “O Block faction” of the Black Disciples gang were convicted in the slaying earlier this year.

Duck was standing outside Dolce & Gabbana, with Williams waiting in a nearby car, when two vehicles pulled up and gunmen jumped out. Weekly was shot 16 times, and Wiliams and Brinson were also wounded.
