The Lincoln Lawyer is one of the hottest shows on Netflix.
Amid Season 3 of the series, showrunners Dailyn Rodriguez and Ted Humphrey spoke to Variety about the future of the show.
Season 3 follows the events of Michael Connelly’s Lincoln Lawyer mystery “The Gods of Guilt,” and centers around the murder of Haller’s client Glory Days, who he became close to when defending her in Season 1. As he attempts to figure out what happened, he ends up representing her accused killer and getting involved with a dangerous cartel.
During the conversation, the showrunners were asked about the cliffhanger in Season 3, when Mickey is leaving town and the police pull him over, as well as what to expect next season.
“Season 4 is based on The Law of Innocence, and it’s all about Mickey being accused for Sam Scales’ murder. So that’s the next book we’re adapting,” they revealed.
Here’s a full book synopsis: “Defense attorney Mickey Haller is pulled over by police, who find the body of a client in the trunk of his Lincoln. Haller is charged with murder and can’t make the exorbitant $5 million bail slapped on him by a vindictive judge. Mickey elects to defend himself and must strategize and build his defense from his jail cell in the Twin Towers Correctional Center in downtown Los Angeles, all the while looking over his shoulder–as an officer of the court he is an instant target. Mickey knows he’s been framed. Now, with the help of his trusted team, including Harry Bosch, he has to figure out who has plotted to destroy his life and why. Then he has to go before a judge and jury and prove his innocence.”
That said, the streamer hasn’t officially given the green light to Season 4 yet, but hopefully we hear soon. It took less than a month for Season 2 to be ordered, and even less time for The Lincoln Lawyer to get renewed for season 3. Stay tuned!
