Canadian actor Tanner Novlan plays Dr. John Finnegan, popularly known as Finn, on The Bold and the Beautiful, the CBS soap opera. He joined the soap in 2020 and has held center stage many times since. The actor, a father of two, is married to a former soap actor, Kayla Ewell.

Tanner Novlan, who plays Doctor Finn on The Bold and the Beautiful, was born in April 1986 in Alberta, Canada, and raised in the village of Paradise Hill in Saskatchewan.

Tanner’s father, Doug Novlan, had a farm in Canada, where he grew up, while his mother lived in California. As the eldest of three siblings, the 38-year-old was close to his grandfather when young.

However, the actor’s hilarious take on his habit is that his neighbors think he has been thrown out of the house, and he is contemplating divorce.

He was part of the 2010 music video for the Australian band Sick Puppies, titled Maybe. His most famous role has been for a Liberty Mutual commercial where he portrayed a “bad actor.”

Tanner has been part of seven movies extending across genres, from science fiction and comedy to sports and horror. His performance in the comedy-drama Flatbush Luck earned him two Best Actor nominations. The last film he was seen in was a 2022 Hallmark Channel movie for television titled Christmas Class Reunion.

Tanner met his wife Kayla Ewell at the shoot for the music video, Maybe. The duo married in 2015 and had their first child, daughter Poppy Marie, in July 2019. In June 2022, they had Jones, their second child.

His wife, Kayla, was part of The Bold and the Beautiful long before Tanner joined the cast of the daily soap. Kayla played Caitlin Ramirez, an intern at Forrester Creations, between 2004 and 2005. She was paired with both Thomas and Rick and was shown to work with her mother, Samantha. Later, she exited the soap as the story arc took Caitlin and Samantha away from LA.
