Our spy photographer spotted a camouflaged 2025 Model Y testing on public roads in Europe.
Changes will likely follow those given to the Tesla Model 3, which included a new front end, a quieter cabin, and improved standard features.

Tesla updates tend to come with a Wi-Fi connection and a new flatulence recording for the custom horn feature. Occasionally though, Tesla bestows a physical facelift on its products. Our spy photographer spotted a camouflaged 2025 Model Y (nicknamed Juniper) testing on public roads in Europe.

While the front and rear bumpers are both wearing disguises, we can spot what look like updated headlights and taillights on the new Y. The headlights look to take after the trimmed look found on newer Model 3s—though modified with a split-headlight design for the Model Y. While they’re almost entirely kept under wraps, the taillights look to follow the same formula with a set of thinner units. We expect the rest of the changes to the Model Y to follow closely with those in the refresh of the Model 3 last year.

The smaller sedan received a new front end complete with a new set of headlights. In addition to using more acoustic glass, Tesla also used more sound-deadening materials under the sheetmetal to improve noise isolation in the cabin. The interior materials are also of a higher quality when compared with older Model 3s and rear seat passengers are treated with an 8.0-inch display to adjust climate controls or consume media. Unfortunately, the updates also included removing the turn signal and transmission-shifter stalks—two changes we hope don’t make their way to the Model Y.

We expect the updated Y will arrive sometime this spring, with more information to come closer to its release.
