Prince Harry was reportedly left furious after King Charles told him not to bring Meghan Markle to Balmoral on the day of the Queen’s death, with the duke giving a scathing response
He claims his father explicitly said: “He said I was welcome at Balmoral, but he didn’t want… her. He started to lay out his reason, which was nonsensical, and disrespectful, and I wasn’t having it.”
Detailing more, Harry wrote how Charles stuttered an apology, noting that he wanted to avoid a large gathering and since Kate wouldn’t be there, Meghan shouldn’t either. The phrase: “He stammered, apologetic, saying he simply didn’t want a lot of people around. No other wives were coming, Kate wasn’t coming, he said, therefore Meg shouldn’t,” captures the essence of Charles’ reasoning reports the Mirror.

Moreover, Harry experienced challenges reaching Balmoral, with little aid from the Royal Family, causing him to miss his last chance to farewell the Queen.
He described the moment like so: “When the plane started to descend I saw that my phone lit up. It was a message from Meg: ‘Call me when you get this.’ I looked at the BBC website. My grandmother had died. My father was King.”
Meghan, who at first wasn’t asked to come to Balmoral on the day Queen Elizabeth II passed away, was later told she could join in walking behind her coffin with other Royals, the Express has reported. Meghan’s last UK visit was on this grim occasion, but since then Harry has been back several times by himself.
Noteworthy among Harry’s trips is his visit in February when he came out in support of his dad after Prince Charles announced he had cancer and his attendance at the WellChild Awards 2024 this past September.
