However, it goes against a scene from Outer Banks season 4, part 1’s ending that specifically centered around the idea of John B. and Sarah starting a family. In the scene from Outer Banks season 4, part 1, John B. alludes to the idea of him and Sarah having children. Rather than proving she is into the idea, however, Sarah quickly shuts John B. down.

Sarah tells her boyfriend they are too young to be starting a family just yet and to slow down given that they are only 19 years old. That said, she falls pregnant in Outer Banks season 4, part 2. While the pregnancy was obviously unplanned, Sarah’s fear is adequately depicted, and the storyline was a natural one for the sake of melodrama and gearing up to the show’s ending, it goes against Sarah’s wise decision in season 4, part 1.

Regardless of how Sarah’s pregnancy impacted her previous arc, Outer Banks season 5’s story will be greatly affected by this reveal. For one, Sarah will likely be placed in less overtly dangerous situations than she has been in previous seasons.
