Netflix has renewed the Erin Foster created comedy Nobody Wants This, starring Kristen Bell as an agnostic podcast host and Adam Brody as an unconventional rabbi.
Turns out there are plenty of folks who do want this.
Netflix revealed Oct. 10 that they have renewed Nobody Wants This for a second season after the success of season one, which followed the story of an unlikely romance between an outspoken, agnostic podcast host (Kristen Bell) and an unconventional rabbi (Adam Brody).
“Nobody wants this to end,” Netflix said in a video shared to X, formerly Twitter. “Let’s make it official. Season 2 is on the way.”
While there is currently no premiere date set for the Erin Foster-created show, the new season will be helmed by Girls alums Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who will serve as executive producers and showrunners.
And for Foster—who is the daughter of music producer David Foster—getting to make a season two is something she is incredibly excited about.
“Creating Nobody Wants This will forever be a career highlight for me,” she said in a statement. “The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed. I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story, and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I’ve been such a fan of since Girls… Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!”
Konner and Kaplan shared their own enthusiasm, with Konner saying, “It’s a dream to be working on Nobody Wants This. Erin is the rare creator with a crystal clear voice and a genuinely collaborative spirit.”

Kaplan added, “I am excited beyond belief to be a part of Season 2 of Nobody Wants This, created by the hilarious Erin Foster. It is such a unique and beautiful show and I am already having the best time working on it.”
Even before season one of the show aired, Foster—who loosely based the show on her own romance with husband Simon Tikhman, for whom she converted to Judaism—was already thinking ahead to future seasons.

“We’re getting a really positive response,” she told IndieWire in September. “And so I think the conversations have definitely started to happen about a potential season two.”
As the 42-year-old explained, “The story in season one unfolds really slowly. So I think if there is a season two I would want to just kind of pick up where we leave off and continue to take it slow, because I don’t want us to get too far ahead of ourselves.”
