Mike Tyson’s son didn’t hesitate when asked if the fight with Jake Paul was “rigged”: “That’s it”

Mike Tyson’s Son Didn’t Hesitate When Asked If Jake Paul Fight Was ‘Rigged’: “That’s All It Was”

In the aftermath of the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson event, some prominent names in the sport said they believed the fight was scripted.

The underwhelming eight-rounder saw Paul take a clear unanimous decision win against 58-year-old Tyson, who retired from professional boxing almost two decades ago.

Claims from the likes of Oscar De La Hoya and Carl Froch suggesting the fight – sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations – was pre-determined prompted Paul’s promotional company, MVP, to release a statement branding any such comments categorically false, ‘naive’ and ‘insulting.’

Despite the evidence against it, some users on social media began clipping the fight and sharing theories as to why they thought the fight was ‘rigged.’

Now, speaking to Seconds Out, ‘Iron’ Mike’s son, Amir Tyson, has completely ruled out any pre-fight arrangement.

“Some people are on that bogus ‘oh, it’s rigged’… we know it wasn’t rigged. He just got tired. Jake would move out the way. It looked like he pulled his punches back but Jake’s moving. It’s not like the pads, he’s moving.

When someone doesn’t want to accept that someone lost, when it doesn’t go that way of course they’re gonna pull that. And that’s what they’re putting on the internet. His gas tank after the third round was just shot. That’s all it was. He just kept on staying throughout. He did his best. No holding back, he did the best he could at his age.”

As Paul forges ahead with his boxing campaign, Tyson has confirmed he is now retired for good. It’s a sentiment Amir agrees with.

“I think he’s done. My step-mom, she’s saying he’s done and they’re a team. That’s husband and wife stuff.”
